VDOT: Central Mix Aggregate Plant Proficiency Exam

The proctored 2 hour, 1-on-1 proficiency test is required to fully complete the VDOT Central Mix Aggregate Plant certification (CMA).  It is designed to prove an individuals’ understanding of  Sampling Aggregates (AASHTO T2), Reducing Samples of Aggregate to Testing Size (AASHTO T248), Total Moisture Content of Aggregate by Drying (AASHTO T255), Sieve Analysis of Fine & Course Aggregate (AASHTO T27), Materials Finer then No. 200 in Mineral Aggregates by Washing (AASHTO T11), Determining the Liquid Limit of Soils (AASHTO T89), and Determining Plastic Limit & Plasticity Index of Soils (AASHTO T90). Exam locations will be determined on an individual basis, preferably at the students' employers' VDOT certified lab. The deadline to register for the CMA Proficiency is December 6, 2019, there will be no exceptions.  Certifications are provided by VDOT.  You must bring a valid ID.
 
Once registered, you will be contacted with details and to make time and location arrangements.  It is strongly encouraged that all test-takers from a specific location, make arrangements to test on the same date, at the same location.
