ATTENTION! This self-study certification opportunity is intended ONLY for individuals that have significant prior industry experience. There is online supplemental course material provided. You will be mailed ONLY a course manual to study with and use as a reference during your open-book test attempt. The best way to prepare for the test is to attend an instructor-led course.
The certification will cover nuclear density testing, one-point proctor and "Speedy" moisture, construction and testing of embankments and subgrade, pipe installation, roller patterns and reports.
Once registered, your book and an information packet will be mailed* within 14 business days. Participants must pass the written competency AND the (additional cost) 1 on 1 proficiency examination to be certified. Both proctored exams must be scheduled by June 19, 2024. Exams MUST be completed by June 30, 2024. Additional proctor fees may apply.
For VDOT Self Study programs, once materials have been printed and shipped, material costs have been incurred and we can no longer issue a refund. No exceptions.
