Fundamentals of Culinary Arts

This program is designed for individuals with a passion for culinary arts, regardless of their previous experience. It is ideal for beginners seeking entry-level positions in the food service industry or those looking to enhance their existing skills.  Upon completion of the program, participants will possess a solid foundation in culinary arts, making them more competitive candidates for entry-level positions in the food service industry.

Course Objectives
The program consists of a total of eight (8) classes, each lasting two hours. The capstone event in Week 4 will provide participants with an opportunity to apply the skills learned in a real-world setting, preparing them for the challenges and expectations of the food service industry. 
  • Equip participants with essential culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication in a kitchen environment.
  • Provide hands-on experience to enhance practical skills.
  • Prepare individuals for gainful employment in the food service industry.
  • Raise awareness of educational options at Reynolds Community College.
  • Prototype AI based culinary assessment tool to measure food industry competencies.
