Introduction to Java – 6 weeks
Students learn skills from basic programming in Java 1.8 to advanced ObjectOriented concepts, design patterns, and unit testing. Students also learn version control with Git.
Relational Databases with MySQL – 6 weeks
Students learn how to interact with MySQL databases using DDL to create databases and DML to manipulate data. Students learn concepts and best practices such as normalization.
Web API Design with Spring Boot – 6 weeks
Students learn how to design and build web APIs using Spring Boot. Concepts taught include RESTful service design, JPA, Spring Data, JWT, Spring Security, and AWS deployment using Elastic Beanstalk.
Class Structure
Students meet once a week with their class online. In addition to the weekly class meeting, students meet with a mentor each week for a remote, 30-minute one-on-one. Students start each academic week in their online portal on Sunday and are required to watch all videos and begin working on assignments prior to their weekly class to be prepared.
