Introduction to Cloud & Serverless Computing with Amazon Web Services

This workshop is designed to introduce developers or higher-level IT persons to cloud-based computing concepts with Amazon Web Services.  Prerequisites: Prior conceptual knowledge of Web Servers and Database Servers will be helpful but is not required. Prior programming in any language will be helpful but is not required.  In this course we will set up an AWS free-tier account (which you will have outside of this course.)
We will discuss the core components of AWS and possible benefits of hosting applications in the cloud.  In addition, we will set up Servers (EC2), Databases (RDS) and Storage components (S3). We will create simple Lambda functions and API Gateways to help understand Serverless computing.
