The Certified Electrocardiography Technician Class is designed to prepare students to function as professionals in multiple cardiac healthcare settings. CETs perform various clinical tasks including setting up and performing an electrocardiogram (EKG) and stress tests, preparing patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring, editing and delivering final test results to the physician for analysis, scheduling appointments, and transcribing physician’s interpretations. Job opportunities are prevalent with physician’s offices, clinics, hospitals and outpatient facilities. Clinical Medical Assistants should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED. Participants who complete this comprehensive course would be prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Electrocardiography Technician (CET) national certification examination.
