The online class is a self-paced / self-study class and is equivalent to the instructor-led program. It is intended to be a self-directed independent study program - no classroom time. The program involves instruction regarding layout and pre-marking materials, application, quality control testing, visual inspection and troubleshooting of pavement markings and markers.
This course has online modules.
Once registered, study materials will be mailed* within 14 business days and an email will be sent in 5-7 business days with Online access and login information. Participants must pass the general knowledge portion and the proficiency portions of the examination to be certified. The proctored exams must be scheduled by November 19, 2025. Completion of the self-paced online class must be completed by November 30, 2025. Additional proctor fees may apply.
Refund Policy :
Participants may withdraw and receive a full refund provided a written request in received at least 5 business days before the class is scheduled to begin. Withdrawals must be completed by notifying CCWA in writing by email to vdothelp@ccwa.vccs.edu, or to claney@ccwa.vccs.edu. No refund will be issued if the request is made less than 5 business days prior to the class start date. For VDOT Self Study programs, once materials have been printed and shipped, material costs have been incurred and we can no longer issue a refund. No exceptions.
*Class materials CANNOT be mailed to a Post Office Box.
