This program will prepare participants to enter the pharmacy field and to pursue certification towards the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) exam. Technicians work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies, and other pharmacy settings. Today there is a very high demand for quality pharmacy technicians. This comprehensive 170-hour program prepares students for entry-level pharmacy technician roles. The flexible course structure combines online didactic learning (independent study), in-person practice simulation (Bremo Pharmacy Location), and internships where students can perform supervised pharmacy technician duties in a real pharmacy setting. This course is offered in partnership with the Bremo Pharmacy Training Center, and meets the current Virginia Board of Pharmacy requirements for registration as a pharmacy technician trainee and is PTCB recognized.
