This program will prepare participants to enter the pharmacy field and to pursue certification towards the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) exam. Technicians work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies, and other pharmacy settings. Today there is a very high demand for quality pharmacy technicians. This comprehensive 426-hour program prepares students for entry-level pharmacy technician roles. The flexible course structure combines online didactic learning (independent study), in-person practice simulations (Fridays Only-Bremo Pharmacy Location), and internships where students can perform supervised pharmacy technician duties in a real pharmacy setting. This course is offered in partnership with the Bremo Pharmacy Training Center, and it is ASHP accredited meeting the current Virginia Board of Pharmacy requirements for registration as a pharmacy technician trainee.
