The proctored 1 hour, 1-on-1 proficiency test is
required to fully complete the VDOT Soils & Aggregate Compaction certification. It is designed to prove an individuals’ understanding of nuclear density testing, one-point proctor and "Speedy" moisture tests. Exams are offered at various locations in Virginia.
The current deadline to have Soils and Aggregate Proficiency exams completed is December 11, 2026, there will be no exceptions. Certifications are provided by VDOT.
You must bring a valid ID. This is NOT an open book exam.
You will be emailed an assigned time with site-specific instructions about 1 week before the class.
Re-testers must contact CCWA at, vdothelp@ccwa.vccs.edu to schedule a retest. (max of 2 test events per year).

Participants may cancel and receive a full refund provided a written request is received no less than five (5) calendar days prior to the test date. Cancellation must be completed by notifying CCWA in writing by email to
vdothelp@ccwa.vccs.edu. No refund will be issued after five (5) calendar days OR for failure to cancel.
