VDOT SELF-STUDY: Soils and Aggregate Compaction, Testing deadline Nov 30

ATTENTION!   This self-study certification opportunity is intended ONLY for individuals that have significant prior industry experience.  There is online supplemental course material provided.  You will be mailed ONLY a course manual to study with and use as a reference during your open-book test attempt. The best way to prepare for the test is to attend an instructor-led course.

The certification will cover nuclear density testing, one-point proctor and "Speedy" moisture, construction and testing of embankments and subgrade, pipe installation, roller patterns and reports.

Once registered, your book and an information packet will be mailed* within 14 business days.  Participants must pass the written competency AND the (additional cost) 1 on 1 proficiency examination to be certified.  Both proctored exams must be scheduled by Nov 20 2026.  General Knowledge Exam MUST be completed by Nov 30, 2026.  Additional proctor fees may apply depending on testing location.

 For VDOT Self Study programs, once materials have been printed and shipped, material costs have been incurred and we can no longer issue a refund. No exceptions.
