ATTENTION! This self-study certification opportunity is intended ONLY for individuals that have significant prior industry experience. There is no additional online course material provided. You will be mailed ONLY a course manual to use as a reference during your open-book test attempt. The best way to prepare for the test is to attend an instructor-led course.
The certification will cover components of concrete, ACI Concrete Mix Design, moisture content and batch weight calculations, requirements for inspection of plant and equipment, responsibilities of producer's Quality Control Technician and VDOT Monitor, automated data processing.
Once registered, study materials will be mailed* within 14 business days. Participants must pass both the general knowlege portion AND the computer based proficiency portion of the examination during the same calendar year to be certified. The proctored exams must be scheduled by Nov 20, 2026. Exams must be complete by Nov 30, 2026. Additional proctor fees may apply, depending on testing location.
Refund Policy :
Participants may withdraw and receive a full refund provided a written request in received at least 5 business days before the class is scheduled to begin. Withdrawals must be completed by notifying CCWA in writing by email to vdothelp@ccwa.vccs.edu. No refund will be issued if the request is made less than 5 business days prior to the class start date. For VDOT Self Study programs, once materials have been printed and shipped, material costs have been incurred and we can no longer issue a refund. No exceptions.
*Class materials CANNOT be mailed to a Post Office Box.
